Community Supported Agriculture – most commonly referred to as a CSA or farm share. A CSA program is a business model many farmers/producers use to connect with local consumers directly – by allowing consumers to subscribe to the harvest of a certain farm or group of farms through the purchase of a farm share. Being part of a CSA farm share program has so many great benefits! Not only for you the consumer, but for your local farmer and economy as well!

We are excited to be entering our 7th season offering a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program here at Westward Orchards! A CSA share is a great opportunity to eat fresh, local, seasonal fruits and vegetables while supporting your local farm. We offer a variety of share options to meet the different needs of our members. We are happy to help you determine what share would best fit your family – don’t hesitate to send us a message asking for advice!

Your experience as a member of our CSA program is incredibly important to us. We offer a flexible pick ups, weekly emails about your share with a few recipe suggestions, and a 15% member discount on all Westward Orchards grown produce; in the event your want to supplement your share.

WE HAVE SHARE OPTIONS FOR EVERYONE

FRUIT + VEGETABLE SHARE

Our fruit & vegetable farm share begins the week of July 15th. Members can expect an assortment of seasonal fruits and vegetables. We strive for a balanced box - but occasionally there may be a heavier presence of fruit depending on what is available from our fields. We offer full or half sized shares, and members have a choice of a 15 or 20 week program.

FRUIT ONLY SHARE

Our fruit only share begins the week of July 29th, and runs for 10 weeks. Members can expect an assortment of seasonal Westward grown fruit; peaches, nectarines, blueberries, strawberries and melons, apples & pears.

Available in one size only. Pick ups for fruit only shares are Monday + Tuesday 9am-5pm.

MONTHLY MEAT SHARE

We are proud to offer a 7 month meat share through our friends at Lilac Hedge Farm. Our meat share will run June through December. Members can choose either a 10 or 20 pound share. Shares will be available to pick up the first Monday & Tuesday of the month, or on your farm share pick up day that coinciding week.

FREEDOM SHARE

Our freedom share allows you to support Westward Orchards while not having to commit to a weekly boxed share. Available in $150, $300 or $450 denominations. As a Freedom share member you receive our member discount of 15% off all Westward grown produce. Our most flexible option. Spend it when you want – on anything in the store!

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• WHAT KIND OF FRUIT/VEGETABLE RATIOS CAN I EXPECT?

We are first and foremost a farm that grows tree fruit. With that being said, over the past 6 years our vegetable production has grown. We strive to give you a box that is pretty equal in fruits and veggies - but some weeks may be heavier on the fruit and others may be heavier on the veggies. It really all depends where we are with our harvests.

• CAN I SPLIT A SHARE WITH ANOTHER PERSON/FAMILY?

Absolutely! We ask that you either split your share after picking it up from our store or rotate your pick ups. Please be sure to provide us with both email addresses, so you are both getting our weekly share email.

• WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HALF AND A FULL SHARE?

A half share works out to be an investment of $20 a week. We feel a half share is suitable for two adults who prefer a heavier fruit and vegetable based diet or for a small family wanting a modest amount of fruits and vegetables.

A full share works out to be an investment of $30 a week. We feel a full share is suitable for a family of 4+ members. Some also choose this size to split with a neighbor or another family.

• WHAT ARE YOUR PICK UP TIMES?

We offer a flexible pick up schedule for all our programs. Members can pick up 9am-5pm on their scheduled days. Please keep in mind our lunch counter may be busy between 11:30-2:00 and we appreciate your patience while we gather your share.

LHF MEAT SHARES - the first Monday + Tuesday of each month or with your other share that same week.

FRUIT ONLY - Monday + Tuesday

FRUIT + VEGETABLE SHARES - choice of Wednesday/Thursday or Friday/Saturday
